Wine:

Fresh and full-bodied, the 2021 white Meursault Les Vieilles Vignes benefits from a blend of plots combining limestone and marl terroirs. Aged in 500-liter barrels with very little new wood, this white delivers lovely notes of toasted almond and hazelnut with a floral touch (hawthorn, fern, lime blossom, verbena), butter and flint. The palate is rich, with delicate honey, citrus, white fruit and hazelnut aromas, fresh and unctuous, long and structured. Enjoy with shellfish or white meat, or why not fois gras au naturel?

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, slow-pressed, aged on fine lees for 15 months in 500-l French oak barrels (10% new), alcoholic and malolactic fermentations with indigenous yeasts and bacteria, no stirring, blending of wines from each barrel in stainless steel vats, racking before fining and light filtration, bottling according to the lunar calendar.

Non-certified biodynamic cultivation.

Color:

Bright light gold.

Nose:

Beautiful notes of almond and roasted hazelnuts with a floral, flinty and buttery touch.

Palate:

Rich and full-bodied, with a beautiful structure marked by a perfect balance between acidity and freshness, this Meursault vieilles vignes has a long, velvety finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Foie gras, rack of veal, poultry in white sauce, grilled and sauced shellfish, blue cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028

Voted " Wine merchant of the year 2023 " by the RVF, Maison Vincent Girardin is at the top of the Burgundy wine hierarchy. With uncompromising consistency, its highly seductive wines express themselves in a modern style, at once unctuous and concentrated, with a nice body.

Entirely converted to biodynamic viticulture and described as an "exceptional estate" by Robert Parker, the House produces wines that are highly sought-after by Burgundy's greatest connoisseurs.
