Wine:

An emotionally stirring wine, crafted to authentically express its terroir, the 2020 red Barbagia Rosso IGT Ghirada Fittiloghe presents a beautifully textured aromas of fruit that is both fresh and elegant. Its undeniable kinship with grenache is evident in its delicately infused style, reminiscent of some of the great Rhône signatures... Notes of peony, sugared strawberry, and delicate spices precede a lightly extracted wine with moderate tannins, resulting in a palatable and digestible mouthfeel - all the qualities we cherish in our committee! It possesses a restrained power, but its allure lies in its elegance. Its enduring freshness, coupled with absolute finesse, will always astound us, but more importantly, it delights us!

This time, our journey takes us to Italy, specifically to Sardinia, where we discovered VikeVike. The winery is nestled in Mamoiada, at the heart of Sardinia. A young vineyard, established in 2015, it's the brainchild of an enthusiastic winemaker, Simone Sedilesu. 'VikeVike' in the local dialect translates to 'look, look', an exclamation of wonder and amazement. In this village, perched at an altitude of 650 meters, the predominant grape is Cannonau (known elsewhere as Grenache), accompanied by an indigenous white grape variety, Granatza. Definitely, a name to remember!
