Wine:

Presented in its historic 50 cl bottle, this wine will surprise you with its concentration and finesse, as well as its complex aromas. This legendary sweet wine bursts with concentration and purity, offering a radiant balance between sugar, alcohol, and acidity. After three years of aging, the 2020 white Vin de Constance reveals its aromas of white fruits, citrus, and zest in a lush and suave texture, nuanced with spices. A perfect harmony is achieved between these creamy flavors and the freshness that runs through the wine, creating a complex balance. A sublime wine to enjoy with blue cheese or a citrus dessert.

Vinification:

Hand-picked early in the morning to preserve the berries perfectly. Long fermentation (up to 6 months) for 50% in new French oak barrels, Hungarian oak barrels and French acacia barrels. Aged 18 months in new 500-liter oak barrels, then 18 months in foudres.

Located about twenty kilometers from Cape Town, Klein Constantia has been producing the famous Vin de Constance since 1685. This nectar has been cherished by European courts and world dignitaries and is made from Muscat de Frontignan grapes. It is said that Napoleon Bonaparte drank it on Saint Helena. With over 300 years of history, it rivals the most prestigious Sauternes or sweet wines from the Loire and Alsace regions!
