Wine:

With disarming sincerity, the 2019 Red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Chateau Figeac delivers itself in a powerful and refined body with satiny, elegant tannins, luminous notes of fruit, and a deeply dense, concentrated, and energetic palate. Notes of peony, Sichuan pepper, blackcurrant, and the graphite touch that is the signature of the vintage are present throughout. A brilliant, precise, intense Figeac of extreme suavity, sculpted by the bewitching rigor of the Cabernets, shaped by the sensuality of the Merlots. Rated 98/100 RVF, 97/100 Parker, 99/100 Bettane+Desseauve. "A Figeac on the roof not only of Saint-Emilion but also of the classified growths of Bordeaux" signs Michel Bettane.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Gentle vinification with an extraction program adapted to the maturity of each grape variety. Aged for 17 months 100% in new French oak barrels.

Color:

Intense and brilliant red with purplish reflections.

Nose:

Pure and delicate with aromas of blueberry and mara des bois underlined by a floral frame.

Palate:

The first impression is dense and rich, continuing on the middle palate with velvety tannins and a well-balanced structure. A magnificent persistent length reveals a fruity freshness.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled beef or lamb, saddle of rabbit and its reduced juice, matured Saint Nectaire cheese.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2034 and more for enthusiasts.

The 1er Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion (Saint Emilion First Growth), Château Figeac represents the quintessence of the elegance and refinement of the wines of the western plateau that Saint-Emilion shares with Pomerol. Rated 4 stars RVF - the supreme reward - the wine never stops progressing and surpassing itself, bursting in the warm vintages and revealing itself completely only after an aging of ten to fifteen years.

Unique in terroir and in style, Figeac is an estate like no other, propelled by an atypical grape variety, with a parity between Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, that creates wine of exceptional balance that only become more intense with some years of aging.
