Wine:
The 2017 Red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru La Dame de Gaffelière is the ideal red Bordeaux wine. It has a good balance between structure and strong aromatics. The nose is enchanting, with aromas of black fruits, licorice, smoke and a touch of oriental spices. The palate is just as pleasant, with a beautiful finesse of style supported by the Merlot grape variety and a lot of voluptuousness and elegance. A very nice bottle to enjoy now or over the next 5 to 6 years. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.Vinification:

The 1st Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion, ideally located on the hillside that extends Ausone, Château La Gaffelière belongs to the elite club of the greatest of Bordeaux. A defender of a classic and smooth style of wine, with a terroir on magnificently exposed hillsides, it produces racy, full-bodied wines that outperform their peers in great vintages.
The estate is once again under the spotlight thanks to a gentle revolution that has rehabilitated the vineyard by focusing on Cabernet Franc grapes, high density yields and massal selections.
