Wine:

Rated 94/100 by Parker's Guide, Château Palmer 2014 stands among the greatest wines of the vintage. It fulfills the promise previously noted by our experts when it was in barrel. This is clearly a more restrained and nuanced Palmer, but a Margaux with exquisite precision, featuring blackberry notes and a hint of noble graphite in its aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins; the oak is present but integrates well with the wine's structure. It is supple, and although it does not have the depth and power of Palmer 2015, it remains captivating with its very sensual tactile feel. The Merlot (45% of the blend) adds just the right roundness and a caressing texture. This is undoubtedly a great wine!

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Aged for 20 to 21 months in 50% to 70% new barrels, for an annual production of 120,000 bottles, depending on the vintage.

Color:

Dark red with good intensity and brightness.

Nose:

Precise, exquisite blackberry aromas underscored by a touch of noble graphite.

Palate:

Tactile and supple, with delicate tannins, this round wine is very seductive!

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Prime rib, tartare au couteau, duck breast, entrecôte, game, black truffle dishes.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2038, and even longer for enthusiasts.

A masterful Margaux cru, Château Palmer is prized for its consistency, the voluptuous and comforting nature of its aromas and texture, making it a distinctive estate in the Médoc. The commitment to organic viticulture, the intense focus on every detail, and the belief in continual improvement set it apart from neighboring practices. By limiting yields to produce beautifully ripe grapes and a uniquely velvety texture, the estate stands out for its original tannin touch, arguably presenting the most complete style in the Médoc.
