Vinified since 2005 by Pauline Vauthier, daughter of Alain Vauthier, the wines of Château Ausone continue to gain in elegance—and the 2023 vintage is no exception. Few estates manage to deliver at such a consistently high level, year after year, with such quiet authority. The second wine, Chapelle d’Ausone, loses none of the château’s stature or aura. Driven by a generous proportion of Cabernet Franc, it offers a more accessible expression, while remaining every bit as voluptuous and ambitious as its elder. Juicy cherry, fresh fruit, and a lifted aromatic profile open onto a fine, concentrated structure, framed by noble, polished tannins. The finish lingers on a remarkably pure, mineral note. Brilliant in its clarity and finesse, this is a wine of true pedigree and precision. A rare opportunity to experience a piece of the legend—at a fraction of the price.
