This estate is on a meteoric rise! A champion of Bordeaux’s new wave, Château Mangot is shaking up the rules with bold, forward-thinking wines. Located on the eastern side of the Saint-Émilion appellation, the organically farmed 34-hectare vineyard lies in a single, beautifully preserved block, with 15% of the land dedicated to ecological reserves—hedgerows, woodlands, and natural grasslands.
First spotted in our 2018 Primeurs tastings, Mangot has continued to impress with every vintage—earning consistent praise while remaining refreshingly accessible.
The 2024 Red Mangot, rated 93/100 by Olivier Poussier, delivers plush, expansive texture, voluptuous tannins, and vibrant, expressive aromas. It embraces all the hallmarks of modern winemaking—organically grown fruit, amphora aging, elegant packaging, and a wax-sealed bottle—executed with both precision and restraint. This is the future of Saint-Émilion.
Its singular style leaves many of its more prestigious neighbors in the dust. Don’t hesitate—this is a standout.
