A benchmark among Pauillac’s Classified Growths and located just opposite the Latour estate, Château Pichon Baron has been leading the pack for well over fifteen years. Its perfectly drained gravel soils, warmed by the Gironde estuary’s microclimate, give the wine its legendary power and intensity—all delivered in a remarkably pure and focused style that few can match.
Each year, we’re struck by its ability to express both the character of the vintage and the unique identity of its terroir, handled with poise and precision.
The estate has achieved something rare: it produces two second wines—Les Tourelles, known for its supple texture and expressive fruit flavors, and Les Griffons, which offers a more structured, terroir-driven profile. Together, they form one of the most consistent and highly regarded duos in the Médoc, rivaled only by Latour and its Forts de Latour.
These wines are united by their clarity of style and impeccable craftsmanship, forming a top-tier range. This vintage is no exception, driven by Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the essence of the grand vin.
Les Griffons, in particular, is a coveted label—frequently listed among the finest second wines of the Classified Growths.
