Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir

Alcohol: 13.5 vol.

Wine:

The 2019 Red Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches comes from a beautiful terroir adjoining the famous Clos des Mouches to the north. These old vines produce a powerful, structured wine, buoyed by the generosity of the vintage but without excess, with lovely aromatic freshness and all the caressing finesse of texture typical of the appellation. A bottle with great aging potential.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. 100% purchase of grapes from old vines planted on a beautiful terroir of Beaune 1er cru adjoining the Clos des Mouches to the north.

Color:

Intense and brilliant red.

Nose:

Notes of small acidic red fruits, raspberry.

Palate:

Very beautiful pinot noir, with a lot of finesse. We like its satiny depth, its delicate style, in a concentrated and stretched palate on the small acidulous flavors of red fruits.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Flank steak with shallots, braised pheasant, roast chicken with chanterelles.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030

Winemaker and owner of the emblematic Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault, Dominique Lafon also dabbles in the most accomplished personal experiments, signing off his family estate with meursaults and burgundies of wild pleasure.

This brilliant stylist also produces a number of highly selective wines through his own trading house. This confidential production, usually reserved for a restricted circle of wine lovers, all of whom have been granted a wine allocation, is, of course, sold in small batches....

So it's a privilege to be able to offer you this wine from Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches, a terroir adjacent to the famous Clos des Mouches and planted with old vines. Great art to behold!
