The 2019 Red Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée 1859, the first vintage of this inaugural wine, comes from the En Dérée Champérier parcel, the oldest on the estate, on vines that are about 50 years old. A naturalness that is confounding, with a lot of breed and elegance; spicy and spherical, this juicy and peppery wine remains very floral in its rose aromas, with a juicy and smooth flesh, and a fine saline nuance. Rated 94/100 RVF.

An idealistic and sensitive winemaker, Jean-Louis Trapet works as a virtuoso on his family estate, which he has raised to the top of the current Burgundy scene. Attentive and demanding, a convinced follower of biodynamics, he expresses in his wines the most infinite nuances of his terroir, finding tannins of a rare elegance and a level of complexity and accomplishment rarely reached.
