A true icon of Burgundy and respected by all, Nicolas Potel achieved the remarkable feat of bringing Maison Bellene — both estate and négociant — to the very highest level after the sale of his family estate, Domaine de la Pousse d’Or. This masterful winemaker championed a viticulture free of dogma but never of rigor. He crafted graceful, perfumed, and profound wines with beautiful ripeness and unfailing elegance. His sudden passing was a shock to the wine world and to VALAP, where he was a close and trusted partner.
Today, his children — Alphonse, Antonia and Émilien — carry on his legacy with the same passion and discipline, guided by his spirit and high standards. The wines to come will continue to reflect the style and refinement that defined Nicolas Potel’s signature.
