Pierre Girardin - Puligny-Montrachet - Les Folatières - Blanc - 2020

Wine:

From one of the estate's historic 35-acre vineyards, the 2020 white Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières is a concentrated Chardonnay with smoky, licorice notes. The palate is in tune, with great tension and a magnificent mineral purity coupled with ripe, fresh and precise flavors of fruit. A great bottle that will go far! Rated 97/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinified and aged in 456 liter barrels for 12 months, 75% of which are new, then in stainless steel tanks for 7 months.

Clear and bright gold.

Nose:

Licorice and smoky notes

Palate:

Noble and tense, this wine is both precise and fresh, with a lot of mineral purity and a very ripe flavors of fruit.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Shellfish, pan-fried scallops, lobster in sauce, salt-crusted salmon, veal risotto, chicken with tarragon and cream.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2037.
