Wine:

The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Vieilles Vignes de 1913 White is a rare and remarkable wine, produced from just 0.18 hectares of vines planted by the winemaker’s grandfather over a century ago. Aged without new oak, it borders on Grand Cru depth, offering a rich, expansive texture—especially in this outstanding vintage. Despite its opulence, freshness remains at the core, with captivating aromas of candied pear, quince, yellow peach, pineapple, and bergamot. The palate is extraordinarily smooth and sensual, echoing these flavors with a cascade of spices, leading to a truly majestic finish. This is a wine meant to be savored slowly—especially in Magnum format, where its ageing potential and convivial nature reach new heights.

Vinification:

Area: 0.66 ha. Subsoil composed of a base of rock slabs. Average age of vines: 50 years. Aged in a small proportion of new barrels (20%) and the rest in barrels that have been used once or twice, allowing the terroir to express itself fully.
The vines are grown using non-certified organic methods.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Bresse chicken in a creamy morel sauce, veal blanquette, grilled lobster with tarragon butter, curry scallops, and noble fish.

Cellar aging:

Starting today and continuing until 2032.

A Meursault powerhouse, Domaine François Mikulski is a well-kept secret among insiders—and one of the most coveted names in Burgundy. Acclaimed by critics, these wines are counted among the region’s finest, prized for their honest expression of terroir and remarkable authenticity.

For over three decades, François Mikulski—now joined by his son-in-law, Thomas Boccon—has charted a course of excellence defined by purity, finesse, and freshness. Organic farming, a careful touch with new oak, and perfectly timed harvests all come together to create wines of impeccable balance.

Discreet yet revered, this estate has become a magnet for Burgundy lovers. But with production limited, opportunities to secure these bottles remain rare.
