Set just behind Mazis-Chambertin on a north-facing plot at the mouth of the Lavaux combe, the 2023 Red Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny delivers a wine of remarkable finesse and beautifully polished tannins. Its delicate, tea-like style rests on a pure, dense core, lifted by oak ageing that adds just the right touch of subtle toast and spice. Fresh, elegant, and effortlessly refined, this is a bottle that will reward a bit of patience in the cellar. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.Vinification:
