Wine:

The 2023 Red Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi comes from a stony, sandy, well-draining terroir that naturally yields light, vibrant Pinot Noir. Here, the emphasis is all on pleasure: the wine is silky and fresh from start to finish, with juicy red fruit flavours—think redcurrant and raspberry—that keep it lively and inviting. The tannins are smooth and supple, making it an easygoing, versatile bottle to enjoy with charcuterie, pâté en croûte, or a slice of Saint-Nectaire cheese.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Fermented in vats for 15 days, with punching down of the cap. Aged in barrels, 20% of which are new.

Certified organic wine from a Level 3 High Environmental Value (HVE) farm.

Color:

Bright red, with a beautiful intensity.

Nose:

Aromas of red fruit, emphasised by a subtle touch of oak.

Palate:

The palate is light and vibrant, driven by shimmering red fruit flavours—think crunchy cherry and wild raspberry. This charming cuvée unfolds with a silky, refreshing texture and ultra-smooth tannins, making it incredibly approachable and ready to enjoy right away.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Cured meats, pâté en croûte, roast free-range poultry, veal rolls with chanterelles, matured farmhouse Saint-Nectaire.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2034.
