Wine:

Full of finesse, the 2023 Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos de l'Arlot Monopole Red stands out for its delicate, beautifully balanced flavours — red berries, rose, and peony — all woven together with juicy tension, velvety tannins, silky texture, and fully ripe fruit. It finishes with a burst of vibrant freshness. This is a generous, focused, and supple wine with serious elegance and clear ageing potential. Sourced from 2 hectares of Pinot Noir planted on a mix of marl and limestone soils, the wine is crafted exclusively from old vines — and it shows.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional vinification, minimal fermentation, gentle pumping over and punching down. Aged for 15 months in oak barrels with a maximum of 45% new barrels, then 3 months in vats before bottling.

Color:

Bright red with beautiful intensity.

Nose:

Aromas of red fruits mixed with notes of rose and peony.

Palate:

This wine is very refined, skillfully combining lively flesh, velvety tannins, a silky texture, and ripe fruit, ending with a burst of freshness.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Beef rib in a herb crust, chicken with morel mushrooms, duck strips with mild spices.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2035, and beyond for enthusiasts.

Awarded 3 stars by the prestigious French wine guide RVF (Revue du Vin de France), Domaine de l’Arlot is one of Burgundy’s crown jewels. An iconic estate founded in the 18th century, a star of the Côte de Nuits, it expresses the very soul of Pinot Noir with quiet intensity — and also crafts one of the most distinctive, seductive Whites in the region.

Under the guidance of Géraldine Godot for the past decade, the estate’s 15 organically farmed hectares include true gems like Romanée Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Suchots, and its flagship Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges — a 7.2-hectare monopole managed as a single, unbroken parcel.
