The Dalmore 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Select Single Malt Whisky is a Sherry-infused version, aged in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels. It offers complex flavors of honey, caramelized orange notes, fresh ginger and raisins. The palate offers a more chocolatey tone, with notes of crushed almond and a touch of cinnamon. The finish releases fruity notes of mango, panna-cotta and lemon sponge cake .
Elaboration:Non-peated. Matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels for about 10 years. Then, maturation of 18 to 24 months in 3 barrels from different cooperages having contained a single sherry of their own blend.
Color:Amber with copper highlights.
Nose:Scents of caramelized oranges, ginger and raisins and honeyed accents.
Palate:Intense and sweet. Flavors of dark chocolate and crushed almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon. The finish is a mix of mango, panna cotta and lemon sponge cake.
Temperature:Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Glencairn whisky glass.
Food and wine pairing:As an aperitif or digestive, dry, on ice or accompanied by still, neutral spring water at room temperature.
The Dalmore - which means "the great field" in Gaelic - is a distillery located in the Highlands region of northern Scotland, founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson.
