Matured in ex-Bourbon casks and 30-year-old Oloroso Sherry casks, The Dalmore 18 Year Old Sherry Single Malt Whisky offers the quintessence of the house style. This latest 2022 edition opens with smooth notes of vanilla, chocolate, marmalade and licorice. The palate combines hints of dried fruit and spice with a hint of citrus, nutmeg and coffee, ending with a finish of stewed fruit and caramel.

Elaboration:

Aged for 14 years in American white oak casks that had contained Bourbon whiskey, before being transferred to Methuselah Oloroso Sherry casks for a further four years.

Nose:

Soft and charming, with fine notes of pine, spicy cinnamon and lemon.

Palate:

Vanilla, coffee, rosemary, truffles, raisins and chocolate make this a generous and rich wine. The finish reveals subtle aromas of violet and jasmine.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Glencairn whisky glass.

Food and wine pairing:

As an aperitif or digestif, dry, on the rocks or accompanied by still, neutral spring water at room temperature.
