Wine:
The 2021 IGT Toscana Masseto Red comes from a small hill rich in clay, planted with 7 hectares of Merlot, all meticulously worked by hand. This vintage, a pure Merlot—returning to the original style of the wine, without Cabernet Franc—offers a powerful expression, true to the estate’s signature, and is richly shaped by a long aging in wood. Black fruits, ripe cherry, spices, and cocoa create an intense, delicious aroma, which is complemented by a generous and expansive structure. Once again, this wine is at its peak, a textbook example of a great wine with legendary aging potential. Storing it in your cellar is an absolute must! Rated 95/100 by Parker.Vinification:
Hand harvested in 15kg crates. The grapes are sorted and destemmed by hand. Each plot is vinified separately. Fermentation takes place in steel and wooden vats, followed by a maceration period of 21 to 28 days at a temperature of between 25 and 28°C. Next comes malolactic fermentation in 100% new oak barrels, after which the batches are separated for 12 months of maturation. The wine is then blended and returned to the barrels for a further year, for a total of 24 months. After bottling, the wine is aged for a further 12 months.Color:
