Wine:

An exceptional yellow wine from only 70 acres, the 2014 White Château-Chalon En Beaumont is a bottle of great grace. Rated 93/100 by the RVF and 94/100 by our Selection Committee, it reveals its powerful, noble and pure aromas of oxidative savagnin grape that evoke fresh walnuts, red fruits in brandy, grilled almond and marc. The palate is rich, marked by flavors of spices and curry and perfectly balanced between smoothness and finesse. It is a complex wine of great persistence, which will pair beautifully with a 24 months Comté, a poularde à la crème or a lamb curry. A pure and complex wine that will go down in history, in the tradition of the sumptuous 2009, a model of fullness and elegance.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinification in vats for 1 year. Matured in barrels for 6 years.
The yeast helps to develop a veil on the surface of the wine. The yeast veil causes an oxidation that gives hazelnut aromas and a golden color. There is then a loss of 30% of the volume, called the angels' share.

Color:

Intense and bright golden yellow.

Nose:

Perfumes of oxidative Savagnin, marked by notes of walnut, grilled almond but also of red fruits in brandy and marc.

Palate:

Ample and complex with spicy aromas, this wine of great persistence is of perfect balance between finesse and smoothness. A marvel!

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

24 months matured Comté, poularde with cream and morels, lamb curry.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2069

A rising star of the Jura region, Domaine Grand has been driven since 2014 by the energy and enthusiasm of Emmanuel and Nathalie. It is a few kilometers north of Voiteur, perched on the heights of Passenans, that the couple has put its stamp on this historic address, whose vineyards have been documented since the 18th century.

Modern while still anchored in tradition, reduced to ten hectares and now organically cultivated, the estate profiles delicious wines that place it among the Jura elite.
