Wine:

Formerly known as “Syrah Léone,” the 2015 Red Belle Léone wine (Vin de France) comes from the vineyard’s most friable, crumbling rock soils. Still holding some of its youthful reserve, it opens with notes of charcoal and leather. This is a wine that deserves patience—the structure needs time to soften—but the hallmarks of the wine are already present: silky tannins, restrained power, and a deeply sensual, vinous character. Everything is in place for a remarkable evolution.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional vinification. Aged in vats.

Color:

Bright dark red.

Nose:

Delicate aromas of ripe fruit and a hint of liquorice.

Palate:

a silky tannic structure with deep dark fruit flavors, leading into a long, lingering finish.

Temperature:

Serve at 14 to 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Braised beef chuck, red meat in sauce, spicy dishes, all types of slow-cooked game.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030

An icon of the Languedoc and awarded three stars by RVF—RVF being France’s leading wine magazine—Peyre Rose is the bold, uncompromising vision of Marlène Soria. What began in the early 1990s as a modest project has since become a benchmark estate, representing the pioneering spirit of a Languedoc eager to bring its finest wines to the international stage.

A darling of Robert Parker, Peyre Rose continues to captivate critics worldwide with its singular personality and dazzling, long-lived wines.

Always in high demand, these wines are a masterclass in patience and restraint—shaped by time, brought to life through long, gentle aging, and crafted under a philosophy of exemplary organic farming. Peyre Rose stands as an inspiration: a model of what the Languedoc can achieve when vision, time, and terroir are allowed to speak freely.
