Languedoc

Clos des Augustins - Pays d'Oc - Magnum - Esquisse - White - 2024

Characteristics

Country / Region: Languedoc

Vintage: 2024

Name: IGP Pays d'Oc

Grape variety: 90% Vermentino & 10% Chardonnay

Alcohol: 13.5 vol.

Color: White

Capacity: 150 cl

Wine:

Beautifully ripe, the 2024 Esquisse White from IGP Pays d’Oc delivers a generous, refined wine with flavours of white-fleshed fruit, carried by a pleasant touch of bitterness that adds length and depth. Aged without any oak influence to let the fruit shine through, it remains balanced, vibrant, and refreshingly crisp. It’s a mouthwatering white that pairs effortlessly with tapas, grilled sea bream, or a fillet of bass.

Vinification:

Mechanically harvested, with the grapes fully destemmed and gently crushed before undergoing direct pressing. The juice is clarified through natural settling, then aged for six months on fine lees with regular stirring (bâtonnage) in stainless steel tanks—enhancing texture and complexity while preserving freshness.

Color:

A pale, brilliant golden yellow.

Nose:

Generous and expressive, it opens with aromas of white and yellow-fleshed fruits, lifted by a delicate floral note.

Palate:

A lively, refreshing structure carries flavours of white-fleshed fruit, leading to a subtly mineral finish.

Temperature:

Serve chilled, between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Perfect with seared scallops and citrus, a green asparagus fricassée, or aged Comté cheese.

Cellar aging:

Enjoy now and through to 2028.

Carried by the cool breezes of the Pic Saint-Loup, these two Magnums—each under €10—are must-haves for your summer.

Especially when they come from Clos des Augustins, a domaine known for crafting elegant wines that stand out in a region often dominated by bold, powerful styles. Here, finesse and indulgence go hand in hand, with expressive, fruit-driven flavours lifted by one of the Languedoc’s freshest terroirs.
