Clos de l'Ecotard - Saumur - Les Pentes - White - 2022

Wine:

Grown on a limestone-rich slope, the 2022 Saumur Les Pentes White is a stunning expression of purity and minerality — one of the most exciting whites you’ll find. The radiant character of Chenin Blanc and its signature chalky tension stretch across the palate, lifted by subtle notes of anise. Masterfully balancing concentration, chalky intensity, and elegance, this brilliant white delivers a modern, refined take on the great wines of Saumur. In magnum format, both the pleasure and cellaring potential are multiplied.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Selection of grapes from the top of the plot. Fermentation and ageing for 24 months in 25hl Stokinger casks. Production limited to 3,100 bottles and 100 magnums.

Certified organic wine.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled prawn skewers, monkfish terrine, grilled sea bass with fennel, Normandy-style veal chops, poultry, Crottin de Chavignol cheese puff pastry.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2033, and beyond for enthusiasts.
