Wine:

Opening with smoky, flinty notes, the 2022 red Côte Roannaise Eclat de Granite is a straightforward pleasure. It's a tender, concise red, perfectly balanced between fruit and freshness, with a full, concentrated palate and delicate, tightly-packed tannins. It will evolve positively, but it still needs a little time, ideally until the delicate end of the year, for optimal tasting with a fine, tasty meat. Rated 92-93/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 15 to 18 days of slow fermentation-maceration with indigenous yeast, aged 6 to 10 months in cement vats with racking.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.

Black red with violet highlights.

Nose:

Empyreumatic fragrances with a flinty edge.

Palate:

This concentrated, full-bodied wine has delicate, tightly-packed tannins and will reveal its full potential in a few months' time.
