Wine:

The 2020 Red Sancerre Alphonse Mellot & VALAP is an ode to Pinot Noir. Vinified from whole grapes, aged in wood between barrels and tuns, it delivers the quintessence of the grape variety, its crunchy, infused side, in a Burgundian style. In this very ripe vintage, it offers an extra depth, a rich and juicy palate which augurs a good aging potential.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 100% whole bunches, fermentation in truncated cone shaped vats, aged for 11 months 50% in wooden vats and 50% in oak barrels.

Organic wine, certified.

Bright red of good intensity.

Nose:

Scents of pinot noir mixed with floral notes such as rose and peony.

Palate:

Juicy and infused at the same time, this wine of beautiful balance offers a salivating and fresh palate,

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Cod with winegrower's sauce, beef bourguignon, quail pie with porcini mushrooms, rabbit with onions, roast poultry, aged Saint-Nectaire farm cheese, aged Abbaye de Citeaux.
