Wine:

A blend of the appellation's finest terroirs, including several premier crus, the 2022 white Pouilly-Fuissé Quintessence opens with a well-defined palette of dried fruit nuances and a toasty, toasty touch that adds depth. The structure is dense, with a fairly rich mid-palate, reconciling creaminess and acidity with elegance. This is an immediately accessible wine, in a full-bodied, plush but perfectly balanced style. Best served with river fish with cream sauce, poached poultry or cheeses.

Verget is one of our favorite addresses in Burgundy, with whom we've built up a solid relationship. To the point of formulating bespoke cuvées, assembled by Olivier Poussier, World's Best Sommelier, and reserved exclusively for our members.

Today, under the supervision of the excellent Julien Desplans, who has been in charge of selection since 2016, following in the footsteps of Jean-Marie Guffens, Verget continues to carry the Burgundian style high, boasting chiselled, slender, very fresh whites and equally successful, fruity reds. Defying the test of time like the great Burgundies, these wines are at the top of the charts every time.
