Domaine Melody - Crozes-Hermitage - Friandise - Rouge - 2022

Wine:

Crafted from the estate's young Syrah vines and aged in stainless steel tanks, the 2022 red Crozes-Hermitage Friandise is a delightfully crisp red. It features enticing, slightly spicy fruit and alluring tannins. A true classic of the appellation, it's straightforward and balanced, with lovely notes of violet and pepper. This enjoyable, smooth, and flawless cuvée is perfect for pairing with poultry or charcuterie at the start of a meal.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally de-stemmed, cold pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (max 26°C).
Vatting for 2 to 3 weeks, extraction by pumping over.
Aged for 10 months in concrete and stainless steel vats, with micro-oxygenation.

Color:

Ruby red with violet highlights.

Nose:

Very Syrah-like, with aromas of violets, Sichuan pepper and spicy notes.

Palate:

Suave and balanced with fragrant fruit, this cuvée de plaisir releases a frank juice with seductive tannins that are simply irreproachable.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Braised lamb chops, roast duckling with melting potatoes, shallot bavette, grilled ribs.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029.
