Spicy and peated, yet remarkably smooth and rounded, Talisker Port Ruighe Single Malt Scotch Whisky is rich with dark fruit aromas, smoky undertones, and hints of chocolate. On the palate, it’s silky and full-bodied, echoing those same notes of fruit, spice, and peat, with a soft, indulgent cocoa finish that’s especially satisfying.

Named after Port Ruighe—the Gaelic name for the Isle of Skye’s main port—this whisky pays tribute to the Scottish seafarers who helped spread Port wine around the world. Fittingly, it undergoes a second maturation in Port casks, which lend it exceptional softness and sweet, fruity depth. It’s a perfect union of Talisker’s bold maritime character and the mellow richness of Port-aged finesse.

Elaboration:

Peated. Distilled in swan-neck stills equipped with a purifier and aged ‘extra’ in Port casks.

Color:

Dark golden amber.

Nose:

Spicy and peaty, enveloped by black fruits (grape, blackberry), followed by a sweet chocolate and licorice finish.

Palate:

Creamy with dominant black fruit flavors that fade to give way to peat, salt, and spices, with a smooth, indulgent finish featuring hints of chocolate and fruit (raspberry, kiwi).

Food and wine pairing:

Enjoy neat, with a splash of water, or over ice.

Talisker is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, off Scotland’s rugged northwest coast, and holds a singular place in the world of whisky.

Founded in 1830 on the shores of Loch Harport—a wild and spectacularly beautiful landscape (the name Talisker means “steep rock” in Gaelic)—the distillery crafts a maritime-style malt shaped by its environment, drawing water from 21 underground springs just steps away.

Its single malts are known for their distinctive oily texture, a result of slow condensation after distillation.

Widely acclaimed and repeatedly awarded, Talisker has earned the respect of the entire whisky industry and today stands as one of Scotland’s most iconic whisky houses.
