The 2010 Venezuela Rum is a woody, spicy molasses rum aged for eight years in bourbon casks in a tropical climate, followed by 4 years in cognac casks. It's a perfectly balanced rum, driven by exotic fruits and spices. The nose is rich and delicate, with delicate hints of nutmeg, honey, vanilla, mandarin and coconut. The palate offers an even spicier, woodier profile, with notes of tobacco, almond, oak, pepper and crème brûlée. Finally, the long finish closes the tasting on a sweeter note, with hazelnut, mango, banana and clove.

Elaboration:

Distilled in column stills. Aged for 8 years in bourbon casks in a tropical climate, then 4 years in cognac casks.

Color:

Amber

Nose:

Delicate and rich, with flavors of honey, nutmeg, tangerine, floral notes, vanilla and coffee.

Palate:

This rum reveals a spicy, oaky profile with a long, dry finish of hazelnut, cloves and fruit.

From the finest distilleries in the Caribbean, Plantation rums benefit from French expertise and a dual culture, born and aged in the tropics, then matured in Cognac.

Alexandre Gabriel, a renowned Master Blender, has created a unique and exceptional range of terroir rums, based on a selection of rare batches and very specific expertise in aging.

All rums, blends and vintages alike, benefit from a unique "double ageing" process: the rums are brought back by boat to the Charentes region, where they are matured for several months in Maison Ferrand barrels.
