AWARDS

House rated 1 star in the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 (RVF) House rated 4 stars in the 2022 Bettane + Desseauve Guide Wine Top Pick rated 94/100 by our Selection Committee!

Wine:

The 2016 Meursault Les Vieilles Vignes Blanc is a perfectly ripe wine with exquisite notes of toasted and roasted almond and hazelnut, and some beautiful floral accents (hawthorn, lime blossom, verbena). The well-managed maturation gives it some warmer notes, which are associated with a dense structure, with a straightforward taste, contained by a nice acidity. We particularly like this combination of smoothness and freshness! A bottle of great harmony to associate with a veal loin or poultry in white sauce. The "Favorite" of our Selection Committee rated 94/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, slow pressing, aged on fine lees for 15 months in 500l French oak barrels, 10% of which are new, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and bacteria, without stirring, blending of the wines from each barrel in stainless steel tanks, racking before fining and light filtration, bottling according to the lunar calendar. Biodynamic cultivation is not certified.

Color:

Bright light gold.

Nose:

Pure and intense, marked by beautiful toasted aromas, notes of almond and toasted hazelnut, underlined by a floral and green accent (hawthorn, lime blossom, verbena), the profile of a beautiful terroir, and great wine.

Palate:

Dense, rich, structured, and contained by beautiful acidity. We applaud the balance of this 2016. A perfectly mastered wine in terms of maturity and aging. A real favorite!

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Foie gras, rack of veal, poultry in white sauce, grilled and sauced shellfish, blue cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2023
