Wine:

A 100% Grand Cru, matured in barrels and then aged for 4 years on slats, the Grand Cru Les Jardins du Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Extra-Brut Champagne offers comfort, balance and a very delicate bubble. The notes of almond, hazelnut and honey, relayed by a chalky touch, form a complex and racy nose, which extends on a palate of the same scale. A champagne of great purity, at ease both as an aperitif and at the table with white meat. A Selection Committee Favorite rated 94/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, base of 2017 harvest, aged in barrels for 10 months, 4 years on laths. Disgorged in January 2022.

Extra Brut : 3g/l.

Color:

Bright pale gold.

Nose:

Very delicate and fresh, marked by a chalky and mineral side accompanied by notes of almond, hazelnut and honey.

Palate:

Silky and delicate, this Champagne is elegant, balanced and digestible with aromas of toasted hazelnut supported by a fine bubble with a finish of fine bitters and a saline imprint.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif or meal starter: salmon and pike terrine, cooked seafood, scallops.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2024

A Grand Cru terroir, barrel ageing, long cellar ageing, and a discreet success: the André Robert Champagne combines strengths and success, away from the scrutiny of the media. Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most famous Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, this independent family business did not escape our Selection Committee's notice, which detected in it an incredible dexterity in handling Chardonnay grapes. A wonderful discovery!
