Wine:

A duo of Syrah and Grenache, the 2020 red Languedoc Le Château is a tailor-made blend by Olivier Poussier, the Best Sommelier in the World, from the best areas of Minervois and Pic-Saint-Loup. Freshness is the wine's guiding principle, served by a crisp juice with delicate tannins, offering fine balance and a raspberry finish. A very fine, accessible bottle, to be enjoyed with a country terrine or sautéed veal with olives. Rated 92/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, selected among winegrowers of the sectors: Saint-Christol, Minervois and Pic Saint-Loup, 45 hl/ha, destemming, crushing, cold pre-fermentation vinification, pumping over, punching of the cap, delestage, maturing of 12 months with rotation in cement vats.

Organic wine, certified.

Color:

Red of good intensity with a light carmine reflection.

Nose:

Smoky wood aromas and sooty notes recall the presence of Syrah, then with aeration we find peony notes brought by Grenache.

Palate:

Light and fruity, this wine releases a juicy and tasty palate with delicate tannins, offering a nice balance and a raspberry finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Country terrine, Iberian pluma grilled a la plancha, veal sauté with olives and tomatoes, lamb chops with thyme, roast poultry.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2027

As the coolest terroir in the Languedoc, the Pic Saint-Loup is a tremendous reservoir of juicy, gourmet wines. Thanks to the talent of Frédéric Mézy (Clos des Augustins), Le Prieuré de Beauregard has become a specialist in this field, benefiting from extremely well-situated plots on clay-limestone soils, undoubtedly among the most enviable in the area.

Altitude, withdrawal into the foothills of the Cévennes and eastern exposure form the ideal conditions for fresh, invigorating, punchy, certified organic wines.
