Wine:

Concentrated and intense, the 2018 Red Bierzo Paixar profiles superb flavors of licorice and violet. The powerful, tight palate confirms these flavors without losing its freshness as we are here coming from a terroir located between 700 and 950 meters of altitude! Frank, modern and energetic, this wine perfectly aged for 14 months in barrels and 500 liters is very well balanced. It also offers a certain amount of sophistication, elegance and nuances that contribute to its complexity. Without a doubt one of the most refined vintages in the history of the vintage, as Parker notes with a 96/100!

Vinification:

Hand harvested, aged 14 months in French oak barrels, bottled without filtration. Production of 10 000 bottles.

Color:

Red of beautiful intensity, some carmine reflections.

Nose:

Concentrated and intense, accents of licorice and violet mixed with empyreumatic notes around black fruit aromas.

Palate:

Powerful and fresh, this frank, modern and energetic wine has a total balance between elegance, complexity and persistence.

Thick beef ribs, duck breast, whole pigeon with black pepper concassé, roasted poultry, mature cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030

Luna Beberide was born under a lucky star. In 1998, Mariano Garcia, the oenologist of the mythical Vega Sicilia estate and family friend, made the first wines. They were quickly elevated to the rank of icons and have since been praised around the world.

Everything here is skilfully orchestrated, between respectful cultivation of living organisms and mastered maturation. The second generation of the family, embodied by Alejandro Luna, is now at work and continues this eternal quest for excellence, favoring indigenous varieties and regional tradition.
