Wine:

Built on beautifully ripe Pinot Noir, the 2023 Givry Champ Lalot Red opens with notes of raspberry coulis and gentle spice. Its fine, vibrant structure is framed by present yet silky tannins, offering a wine that’s both elegant and easy to enjoy. A charming Givry Village with real finesse, perfect for relaxed drinking over the next 5 to 8 years.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. 100% de-stemming. Alcoholic fermentation for 15 to 19 days in stainless steel vats, with 2 daily punchings of the cap. Malolactic fermentation and ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels, 10% of which are new.
Vineyards of 3 ha, 98 a, 80 ca and 9.85 acres, planted in 1975 and 1979.

Color:

Good intensity red colour, brilliance, carmine highlights.

Nose:

Beautifully ripe Pinot Noir, with notes of raspberry coulis and pepper.

The texture is delicate, elegant and tangy, with delicate, present tannins. We recommend ageing for 5 to 8 years, which is ideal for this digestible and tasty Givry Village.

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Traditional charcuterie, roast poultry, rack of veal with sage, grilled flank steak, matured farmhouse Saint-Nectaire cheese.
