Wine:
Sitting on a very nice vintage, the 2019 Red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Mourre des Perdrix profiles a beautiful Grenache infusion, with floral, very delicate, fresh fruity aromas. The texture is very elegant, haloed by delicate fruit, with a tight wine frame and tannins that will polish with time. A great balance is required, with a woody taste that remains discreet. A 10 years aging will not scare it. Enjoy it! Rated 93/100 by the Committee.Vinification:
Hand harvested, 70% de-stemmed, vinified for 4 weeks in truncated wooden vats, aged in these vats and in barrels and demi-muids.
Temperature:
Serve between 16 and 18°C.Food and wine pairing:
Perdreau with candied figs, roast rack of lamb with thyme, venison in sauce, coq de Bruyère braised with grapes, beef cheek stew.Cellar aging:
From now until 2032The Domaine de la Charbonnière, which has been awarded a star in the French RVF wine guide, is growing in popularity year after year. Prized by lovers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines and its surrounding terroirs, this estate has been a resounding success for several years now, thanks to its new generation of owners, the Maret sisters. Olivier Poussier spotted it right away and his enthusiasm for it has not waned.
