Wine:

A wonder of balance and delicacy, the 2019 Red Gigondas Tradition combines flavors of red fruits, dry herbs and spices. The small batch of whole harvest used brings it a lot of freshness and style. The palate is taut yet refined, with smooth tannins and a long finish. A highly well-executed gigondas wine, capable of aging for many years. Rated 02/100 by Olivier Poussier.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vines aged 60 years on average. 100% whole clusters. Indigenous yeasts. Vatting period of 4 weeks with temperature control, small daily pumping over. Aged 70% in concrete tanks and 30% in tuns for about 18 months. No fining, no filtration. Bottled at the estate.

Bright red, of good intensity.

Nose:

Aromas of small red fruits mixed with noble notes of dry herbs and spices.

Palate:

Balanced, fresh, this wine is a real delicacy combining salinity and drinkability with a great finesse

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C in large glasses.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck breast with honey and spices, herb-crusted prime rib, roast pigeon with French peas, saddle of hare with mushrooms.

Domaine du Gour de Chaulé stands out as a prime example of Gigondas excellence, particularly with the impressive contributions of Paul Fumoso, who recently took the helm. His inaugural efforts in winemaking have been nothing short of brilliant, receiving praise from Olivier Poussier.

The winery's approach, featuring minimal sulfur use, aging in large oak casks and concrete, and whole bunch fermentation, results in wines that radiate finesse and elegance, beautifully highlighting the terroir.

Recognized with a star by the RVF Guide, this estate is currently one of the most remarkable revelations in the wine world.
