AWARDS

Cuvée rated 92/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

With a floral profile and a slight woody accent, the 2019 white Vin de France Liberté is astonishingly similar to a Chardonnay from Mâconnais, and in a blind tasting, even the most seasoned tasters could be fooled! Yet, its origin is quite distant, even though its aging process follows the pure Burgundian tradition. This Jacquère from Savoie, elevated by Denis Jeandeau, delivers a saline, mineral backbone with subtle bitterness. It's a wine that benefits from decanting and could even be served blind. Pair it with Japanese-inspired cuisine, small fried dishes, lightly aged fresh cheeses, or freshwater fish.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand.

Color:

Bright, light golden yellow.

Nose:

Beautiful floral and buttery notes.

Palate:

Fresh and saline, with floral accents of fruit, this surprising cuvée releases a juice with a mineral structure and fine bitters.

Temperature:

Decant before serving between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif, Japanese cuisine, fried fish, fresh cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029.

Adulated by the world's greatest Michelin-starred chefs, Denis Jeandeau had become a phenomenon. Régis Marcon, Le Pré Catelan, Lameloise, l'Arpège, l'Ambroisie and Guy Savoy, to name but a few, featured his wines on their menus. Logically awarded two stars in the RVF guide several years ago, he was considered one of the greatest talents of his generation.

We were deeply saddened by his sudden death this summer, as over the years he had become a close friend of Ventealapropriete.

Building on this relationship, we were honoured to be entrusted by his family with the distribution of the last bottles he produced.
