Wine:

The 2020 White Alsace Riesling Le Kottabe is of an absolute purity, with beautifully mature aromas of white fruits, peach, cardamom and burnt cream, a rather astonishing register for a Riesling, made possible thanks to a well accomplished maturity. The palate is rich, ample, generous and preserves, by its natural acidity and its subtle and controlled tension, an affirmed typicity. It is a dry Riesling, but without any austerity, which will perfectly match a gastronomic cuisine based on fish, or even sweetbreads with a creamy curry juice. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Whole bunch pressing in a pneumatic way between 5 and 8 hours, vinification with natural yeasts, spontaneous fermentation without addition of enzymes or selected yeasts and without chaptalization from one to several months. Aged in hundred-year-old oak tuns. Bottled on the estate. Residual sugar : 1 g/l (dry wine). Old vines of the Herrenweg of Turkheim and Wintzenheim, 40 years old. The estate is certified Organic and Biodynamic since 2004 by Ecocert and Biodyvin. Wine certified Organic and Biodynamic by Ecocert and Biodyvin.

Color:

Intense and bright golden yellow.

Nose:

Very pure, notes of white fruits, peach mixed with accents of cardamom and crème brûlée.

Palate:

Rich and generous, this is a dry and generous Riesling wine, whose natural acidity and subtle tension marks it as on eof the best of its appellation.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

To be associated with elaborate dishes, gastronomic cuisine based on fish, or even a veal sweetbread with a creamy juice with spices or curry.
