Wine:

Intense and rich, the 2019 Red Landot Haut-Médoc offers again this year the quintessence of its style, backed by a rather incredible vintage. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape is perfectly ripe, crafting a very Medocan bottle that doesn’t suffer from an overpowering caracter. The palate is delicate yet energetic, with polished tannins and a complex and deep frame, with a beautiful minty finish. You will adore it in bottle format, or even better, in Magnum!

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Plot of 2 ha. Complete de-stemming, fermentation in stainless steel tanks thermo-regulated at 28-30°C, maceration from 15 to 21 days. Aged for 16 months in French barrels. Bottled at the property. Production of 5531 bottles, 360 magnums, 24 double magnums, 1 jeroboam, 2 imperials. Certified wine from a HVE level III farm (High Environmental Value)

Color:

Dark red with purplish reflections.

Nose:

Classic with minty, balsamic notes mixed with touches of cedar and accents of pencil lead and oriental spices.

Palate:

Straightforward, fine and energetic with perfectly ripe fruit, this wine has an intense, complex and deep palate with a persistent finish and subtle menthol notes.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck foie gras, roast duck with honey, leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary, roast beef in a crust, stuffed cockerels.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2031

Adored by our Selection Committee, Landot wines are a hit at every vintage. A micro-production from a two-hectare parcel of Château Caronne Sainte-Gemme, this Bordeaux is a concentrate of terroir, located on a resurgence of the Saint-Julien plateau and immediately adjacent to the Gruaud-Larose and Lagrange grands crus classés. This particular situation creates an incredible wine, unlike any other, of beautiful concentration and elegance. A rarity in the Bordeaux region!
