Wine:

Another success by Laurent Martray! The 2016 Red Vieilles Vignes Côte de Brouilly is a sapid, joyful red, with a very fine texture, sailing pleasantly between aromas of morello cherry and small red fruits. This is a Gamay that will, with time, take on Burgundian accents, especially in this cool, tense vintage, which offers a pleasing prospect! Serve it slightly chilled, paired with veal or beef, or simply with a snack and some artisanal charcuterie. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinification from 14 to 16 days, for 50% of the harvest in whole bunches, with a semi-carbonic maceration. Aged in tuns and barrels.

Color:

Bright carmine red with hints of garnet.

Nose:

Nice notes of morello cherry and red berries.

Palate:

Fresh and crisp on a dapper fruit. Let yourself be charmed by this sapidity and finesse, which with time, will remind you of a Burgundy wine.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Piece of veal or beef, artisanal cold cuts.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2023

In love with this terroir that saw him grow up, he creates beautiful, juicy, and stylish wines that only get more wonderful with aging.
