Wine:

A blend of 3 of the appellation's flagship villages, the 2019 Red Saint-Joseph Les Pilandiers is a stylish wine that benefits from all the virtuosity of the Chapoutier style. This Syrah grape, birthed on granite soils, gives off a dense, deep body with notes of graphite, black fruits and Sichuan pepper. The palate is rich, firm and powerful, with fine tannins and a spicy finish: everything you would expect from a very fine Saint-Joseph. With an aging potential of 7 to 10 years, it is a must-have for sure.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, totally destemmed, aged for 15 months in concrete vats and demi-muids of 2 to 3 wines.

Color:

Intense and brilliant red.

Nose:

Marked by beautiful scents of black fruits and notes of Sichuan pepper.

Palate:

Full-bodied and fresh , this model wine delivers a score of this soil worthy of a virtuoso! Everything is there: Fine tannins, density, depth and spicy finish. We love it!

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Pigeon with peas, wild boar bourguignon, aged cheeses.
