Wine:

The 2021 red St. Joseph La Source offers a lot of evidence and class right now. On this fresh vintage, it develops a Syrah with intense notes of black berries, violets, and smoky scents. The palate takes up this fruity, perfumed, and perfectly ripe wine, offering a pleasant balance between the silky tannins and the spices. An amazing bottle that demonstrates a beautiful success in this 2021 vintage. A joy to drink now or in three or four more years. Rated 92/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 100% destemmed, extraction by punching down and pumping over, vatting for about 20 days, partially aged in oak barrels for about 12 months.

Dark and brilliant ruby red, with garnet reflections.

Nose:

Dark berry aromas complemented by notes of violet and smoky scents.

Palate:

Ripe and perfumed, this wine of immediate pleasure and beautiful balance releases a palate with silky tannins.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Simmered meats, Provençal lamb, sautéed veal chop.

From now until 2028.
