A hallmark of the house, Martell XO embodies the bold spirit of Maison Martell, distinguished by its uniquely designed bottle and its intense flavor profile. In this expression, the Maison offers its interpretation of the Grande Champagne terroir, delivering a harmonious balance between the power and aromatic intensity of the Grande Champagne and the famed finesse of the Borderies cru, which has been the signature of Maison Martell for over 300 years. Its amber hue, with mahogany and copper highlights, carries aromas of black pepper, rose, and coriander, complemented by a pronounced roundness with undertones of sandalwood, culminating in a deeply intense cognac. On the palate, notes of fig and red fruits rise in a crescendo, unveiling the strength and finesse of the Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie. Lengthy and radiant, this cognac can be enjoyed neat or with a few ice cubes. It also pairs beautifully with desserts featuring dried fruits or chocolate.

Elaboration:

Martell is the only major cognac house to distill only clear wines, a method that gives cognac its unique personality. The wood used by Martell comes from oak trees grown in Tronçais-type forests. Of the six Cognac crus, Grande and Petite Champagne predominate in this Cognac brandy.

Color:

Brilliant topaz-ochre color.

Nose:

Rose fragrances punctuated by peppery notes, spices reminiscent of coriander and precious wood tones.

Palate:

On the palate, power also gives way to subtlety, with notes of red fruit, candied figs, toasted wood and a hint of cinnamon. The finish is long and intense.

Temperature:

Serve dry or over ice, as you wish.

Food and wine pairing:

On its own, as an aperitif or digestif, dry or on the rocks, to accompany a chocolate or dried fruit dessert, such as a Paris-Brest.

Martell stands as one of the oldest Cognac houses, established in 1715, with an unwavering commitment to excellence. From its inception, Martell's expertise has captured the world's attention, and even today, it remains a symbol of audacity and perfection.

In 1912, its iconic Cordon Bleu Cognac solidified its fame, becoming the emblem of the house. Martell has always held the Borderies cru in high esteem, favoring it since its foundation, and it has become the signature terroir of the Maison.
