Wine:

With its delicate notes of rose and peony, the 2018 Red Ventoux Silica is playful and savory. It is a wine with an infused substance, carried by these touches of spice, cinnamon, which also carries a great background, a controlled and perfectly framed power. The Grenache (90%) shows its finest score, aged for two thirds in demi-muids and for one third in concrete eggs. The promise is great to see it blossom for many more years! A Selection Committee Favorite rated 94/100 Parker.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vinification in eggs and concrete vats with a long vatting time of 4 weeks allowing a soft infusion of the aromas. Aged for 12 to 15 months in demi-muids and concrete eggs.

Nose:

Fine and delicate on beautiful aromas of red fruits and dried flowers, underlined by a spicy touch.

Palate:

Rich and fragrant, this wine offers a magnificent bouquet of spices and flowers accentuated by a hint of cinnamon. This elegant and supple juice reveals smooth and silky tannins.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Beef tenderloin Wellington with carrot confit, braised veal chop with mushrooms, lacquered duck and reduced juice.
