Wine:

The 2023 White Alsace Grand Cru Engelberg Riesling comes from a 1.60-hectare parcel originally planted to Riesling with a touch of Gewurztraminer. The nose is delicate and refined, with white flower aromas, citrus zest, and subtle hints of citrus peel. This vintage is beautifully balanced, with a linear structure, vibrant acidity, and a refreshing lift. The finish reveals fine mineral bitterness and a saline edge. It’s a precise, airy wine—invigorating and elegant. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested on October 7, 2023. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Aged for 18 months on fine lees until bottling in summer 2025. Residual sugar: 2.0 g/l.
Engelberg: the mountain of angels, Grand Cru classified terroir, stony clay-limestone soil, Middle Jurassic oolitic limestone base, south-facing.

Certified organic wine.

Color:

Bright pale yellow

Nose:

A fluid wine with a nose marked by white flowers, hawthorn, citrus notes, zest, citrus peel, delicate and elegant, with hints of lily of the valley and a hint of lime.

Palate:
