Very open, the 2017 Red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Côte Madeleine takes full advantage of the freshness of the vintage, opening with a precise, straightforward nose, offering perfectly ripe, salient Merlot with notes of blackcurrant and precious wood, with a hint of balsamic. The palate is racy, with a well-balanced, half-potent juice, ready to drink today but capable of aging for another 5 to 6 years. Rated 92/100 by the Committee.

Hand harvested from September 25 to October 6, 2017. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, maceration for 3 to 4 weeks. Aged for 12 to 14 months in barrels in an air-conditioned cellar (50% new wood & 50% one wine).

Dark garnet-red with good intensity.

Precise, expressive aromas of black fruit and blackcurrant, with a hint of balsamic and subtle notes of precious woods and Lebanese cedar.

Racy with well-balanced juice, this wine offers a full-bodied tannic structure, medium persistence and silky, delicate juice.

Serve between 14 and 16°C.
