Legend of Sauternes, Château de Fargues is owned by Alexandre de Lur Saluces, who was once the co-owner of Yquem, vinifying it for over thirty years... This staunch advocate of sweet wines and heritage now oversees the family jewel, a domain of his family since 1472, like a treasure.
Now joined by his son Philippe, he applies exactly the same principles as at Yquem, with minuscule yields to obtain, through successive selections, perfectly ripe grapes with exquisite natural concentration, and very long aging of three years, producing a Sauternes comparable to the greatest, vibrant, precise, and lordly.
