Dense and deep, the 2017 Red Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is a wine of anticipation. The terroir, located on the most clayey part of the Clos, in the Lieu-dit des 14 journaux, expresses itself admirably, delivering a wine that is both powerful and refined, with a rich, suave and delicate perfume, revolving around hints of wild raspberries and small red fruits in an exceptional and completely bewitching profile. The body is concentrated, ripe without excess, juicy, full-bodied, with great texture. This wine is precise, with all the attributes for a perfect ageing. It navigates between strength and nuance, maturity and freshness. What a wonderful vintage. Rated 19/20 by our Selection Committee and 18/20 by Bettane+Desseauve.
