Jérôme Galeyrand - Côte de Nuits Villages - Blanc 2006

Characteristics

Country / Region: Burgundy

Vintage: 2006

Name: AOP Côte de Nuits-Villages

Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay

Alcohol: 13 vol.

Color: White

Capacity: 75 cl

Wine:

The Côtes de Nuits Villages White 2006 is a rare wine for this appellation. The wine is well woven and deep. The aromas tend to a specific aromatic range in which we can detect dried and pruned fruits. On the palate, the wine is long rather than smooth. It resonates with the power of the Côte de Nuits terroir.

Vinification:

Traditional vinification. Direct pressing without "rebeche" (the last juice pressed) or maceration with skin contact, followed by low temperature fermentation with natural yeasts. Alcoholic fermentation and aging in wood. For the 2006 vintage, the wine fermented in casks until the start of the summer.

Color:

Green-gold colour.

Nose:

Aromas of hawthorn, citrus (lemon, grapefruit), dried fruit, white peach and flint.

Palate:

Plenty of fat on the palate, balanced by a great level of acidity, the wine is blessed with lovely minerality.

Temperature:

Serve between 12 and 14°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Fatty fish, white meat.

Cellar aging:

Enjoy up to and including 2015
